Rahul Gandhi disqualified from Lok Sabha after conviction in defamation case

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been disqualified as a Lok Sabha MP following his conviction in the criminal defamation case over his 'Modi surname' remark.The disqualification is effective from March 23, the date of conviction.The former Congress president represents the Wayanad constituency in Kerala in the lower house.
