Rain: Mumbai records wettest March in 8 decades, cool weather likely today and tomorrow
The IMD has forecast light rain and thunderstorms for parts of Mumbai, Thane and Palghar for Wednesday and Thursday. On the reasons for the unusual rain activity on Tuesday, the IMD said that westerly winds brought in cool, moisture-laden breeze. “The rainfall was due to moisture incursion from the Arabian Sea,” said IMD scientist Sushma Nair.
