Eknath-Dev combo enables infra+welfare play

In the run-up to a series of rural and urban local body polls in the coming year, the Eknath Shinde government's budget for 2023-24 has showered sops on every conceivable section of voters: farmers, women, fishermen, students, Marathas, backward classes, tribals and urban voters in Maharashtra. It even proposed an outlay for the conservation of Hindu pilgrimage spots. The budget has no new taxes.
