Query on high polling in Kerala irks CM

Kochi: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday asked a group of mediapersons to “move away” in an angry tone when they sought his comment on the high polling percentage in the state.

The Chief Minister did not make any attempt to conceal his anger as the visual mediapersons gathered around him at the Guest House in the morning.

Mr Pinarayi remained tightlipped as mediapersons persisted with queries before he lost his cool and told them to move away before entering his official vehicle. The mediapersons waited for long for the Chief Minister to emerge from the Guest House despite not having any prior appointment.

The Chief Minister was showing his anger towards the mediapersons thrusting their microphones towards him for the second time after assuming power. In the earlier incident at Thiruvanathapuram he has told them “get out” from the venue of the discussions between the government and the BJP to end political violence in the state.

Mr Pinarayi has also put an end to the culture of the Chief Minister holding a press conference after the Cabinet meeting prevailed in the state for long. The Pinarayi government stopped the practice and started issuing a press release on the decisions taken in the Cabinet meetings.
