Talking about her warm persona, Gulshan said, "Whenever I used to meet her, she used to ask how’s my favourite Sanjay?" (Gulshan's son Sanjay) He added that Rekha also used to hand draw sketches of him in different looks, that she suggested he should try out for his movies.
