The West Bengal government has announced localised public holidays within respective constituencies during the seven-phased Lok Sabha polls and assembly by-elections. This means that all state-run government offices, educational institutions, and other relevant bodies will remain closed on polling dates to ensure employees can exercise their voting rights. In preparation for the elections, the days preceding polling dates will also be declared local holidays for these institutions, allowing them to be repurposed for election-related activities such as polling stations and distribution centers.
