UGC approves use of NET scores for PhD admissions starting 2024-25 academic session

The University Grants Commission (UGC) announces that National Eligibility Test (NET) scores will be valid for PhD admissions from 2024-25 onwards, streamlining the process and eliminating the need for multiple entrance exams. This decision, made in the 578th UGC meeting based on expert committee recommendations, aims to align with the National Education Policy. Candidates qualifying under different categories will have their NET scores contribute significantly to their admissions, with scores remaining valid for one year.
