UGC issues guidelines for HEIs to provide equal opportunities for all; suggests earn-while-learn and other schemes
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued guidelines for Higher Education Institutions to provide 'Equitable Opportunities to Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs) in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in line with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The UGC recommended implementation of bridge courses, earn-while-learn schemes, and outreach programmes to improve educational opportunities.
