In 2023, IIT Kanpur achieved a milestone by submitting 122 Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) including 108 patents, 4 design registrations, 3 copyrights, and 1 trademark application. The institute also filed 4 US patents and 2 Chinese patents. The patents cover MedTech and Nano Technology, including a portable medical suction device, continuous lung health monitoring system, solid-state sodium-ion batteries, and a low-cost Braille learning device.
