To have greater say in appointment of VCs, state govt amending Himachal Pradesh Universities of Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry Act
The Himachal Pradesh government has tabled a bill in the Assembly to amend the appointment process for Vice-Chancellors of universities. Currently, the Vice-Chancellor is appointed by the Chancellor on the recommendations of a Selection Committee. The proposed amendment would empower the state government to have a greater say in the selection process.
