Haryana Government will bear the fees of poor students: Chief Minister

The state of Haryana in India has announced that no poor child will miss out on higher education due to lack of funds, as universities in the state will use verified data from Parivar Pehchaan Patra (PPP), a government scheme to determine students' annual income categories. The meeting of the Standing Finance Committee "C" also approved a grant of INR100 crore (around US$13.5 million) for the building and construction of the Sports University of Haryana. The courses will include regular courses of PhDs, MSc and BSc in Sports Science along with 42-day certificate courses.
