Telangana's Legal Aid Clinics For Farmers May Soon Become a Pan India Model

The judiciary in India is launching Agri Legal Aid Clinics to help farmers tackle various problems they face. These clinics will be run by trained legal volunteers and aim to provide legal support to farmers on issues such as spurious seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, marketing of agricultural produce, and land rights. The scheme was launched in Telangana and has been successful, with plans to expand it across India. The National Legal Services Authority is also interested in the scheme and it could become a pan Indian model. The executive chairman of the Telangana state legal services authority, Justice P Naveen Rao, is known for his efforts in digitizing the judiciary and improving access to legal aid.
