An Assistant Professor at Punjabi University Patiala has been arrested for demanding Rs 7,000 from a student to give him passing marks in the English subject of BA Final. The student informed university authorities about the crime, providing a recording of the accused demanding payment. The university dispatched a team to Patiala city's old bus stand where the teacher was meeting the student. University officials confirmed that the suspect was an ad-hoc teacher posted at an affiliated college in Sangrur district.
