Tea seller's son secures spot at IIT Bombay

Himanshu Hooda, the son of a tea seller, has realised his life-long dream of gaining admission to the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, after cracking the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) competition exam. Despite helping his family's business and previously being unsuccessful in attempting the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), Himanshu achieved an All India Rank of 205, securing offers from both IIT Bombay and IISc Bangalore for his M.Tech program. His father, a proud tea seller, shared how he had incurred a loan of 15 lakhs to support his son's education.
