In connection with the shooting incident, Mumbai Police have apprehended two individuals, Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21). The pair were identified as contract killers recruited by the team of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. According to the suspects, the gangster sought retaliation against Khan for his alleged role in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
