Halle Bailey lands lead role in Universal's musical directed by Michel Gondry
Halle Bailey, known for her role in "The Little Mermaid," has joined the cast of Universal's upcoming musical film, directed by Michel Gondry and produced by Pharrell Williams. The movie, set in 1977 in Virginia Beach, also stars Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Da'Vine Joy Randolph. It is based on Williams' childhood and will be scripted by Martin Hynes and Steven Levenson. Bailey's addition adds star power to the already exciting project.
