A groundbreaking study utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) has uncovered two distinct subtypes of prostate cancer, challenging previous assumptions about the disease. Led by researchers at the University of Oxford and the University of Manchester, the study revolutionizes prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment by providing insights into its genetic evolution. By analyzing genetic data from thousands of prostate cancer samples across nine countries, the researchers identified these two subtypes, termed "evotypes."
