Research conducted in the UK has revealed a concerning link between poorly controlled asthma and increased carbon emissions, primarily attributed to inappropriate inhaler use. The study, published in the British Medical Journal, analyzed health records of over 236,000 asthma patients and estimated that asthma care contributes significantly to the country's carbon footprint, totalling 750,540 tonnes of CO2e per year.
