Transhipment port: Govt says 11 players have expressed interest in the project in Great Nicobar Island

The government has received expressions of interest from 11 entities for the Rs 41,000-crore international transhipment port project at Great Nicobar Island. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced the submissions for the Bay of Bengal project, expected to handle 16 million containers annually. Planned in four phases, the first phase aims to commission by 2028, costing Rs 18,000 crore.
