G M Rao, chairman of GMR Group, announced the development of a new greenfield airport in Bhogapuram during the Andhra University Alumni Meet. The airport, located on the border of Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts, aims to enhance connectivity with top cities globally. The EPC contract for the airport has been awarded. Rao also highlighted the importance of embracing emerging technologies and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a 'New Digital India'. He emphasized India's digital economy growth, with 111 unicorns and a valuation of $349.67 billion.
