Paytm to cut postpaid, sub-₹50,000 loan exposure

One97, operating as Paytm, is reducing postpaid and small-ticket personal loans below Rs 50,000. Instead, the focus will be on bigger ticket personal loans and business loans. The decision comes after recent regulatory guidance and in consultation with lending partners. The shift in focus will result in a drop in monthly loan disbursals, from Rs 6,000 crore to Rs 4,500 crore, but will not significantly impact earnings. One97 is currently disbursing these loans for Aditya Birla Finance and Sumitomo Mitsui.
