Infosys subsidiary McCamish Systems has reportedly been hit by a ransomware attack, although the impact and nature of the attack have not been disclosed by Infosys. Cybersecurity Insiders suggested that the attack may be in response to a statement made by Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy advocating for longer working hours. McCamish Systems provides services to the financial services sector and was acquired by Infosys in 2009. Other IT firms, such as Cognizant and Wipro, have also faced similar cyberattacks in the past.
