Karnataka IT minister Priyank Kharge has responded to Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy's suggestion that the country's youth should work 70 hours a week. Kharge stated that companies cannot force individuals to work extra hours and that they "cannot run sweat shops". Instead, he believes that companies should focus on productivity rather than stipulating the number of hours worked. Kharge also mentioned that Karnataka has been making efforts to attract investments in areas such as electronics, electric vehicles, and semiconductors.
