The Indian government has achieved over 80% completion in eight out of 14 parameters measured under the Twenty Point Programme in Q1FY24, but this is a decline from the previous year. The areas where performance lagged included rural housing, promotion of self-help groups, and forests. The government also fell short in terms of the number of houses constructed and the area covered under plantation.
