First steel bridge for Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor erected in Surat

The construction of India's first high-speed rail corridor between Mumbai and Ahmedabad is progressing, with the completion of the first steel bridge over National Highway 53 in Surat. The bridge is 70 meters long and weighs 673 metric tonnes. Steel bridges are being used over roads and highways due to their longer length capabilities compared to cemented structures.
