Rs 3.43 lakh crore of Rs 2,000 notes have come back, public can return notes in RBI offices post October 8: RBI governor

According to the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, Shaktikanta Das, Rs 3.43 lakh crore ($46.9 billion) worth of Rs 2,000 denomination notes have been returned to the banking system so far. Das reminded the public that they can still return the withdrawn notes at 19 RBI offices until October 7. He also stated that over Rs 12,000 crore ($1.6 billion) of these notes are still in circulation and can be returned even after the extended period ends.
