Tata Steel plans to scale up usage of hydrogen in steel making process: CEO & MD T V Narendran

Tata Steel plans to increase the usage of hydrogen in its steel making process after a successful pilot project in Jamshedpur. The company injected hydrogen gas into its blast furnace, which reduced coal consumption and carbon footprint. The CEO, T V Narendran, stated that the company will scale up the usage of hydrogen, but the availability of green hydrogen in Eastern India will determine its extent.
