Self-regulation system of TV channels needs strengthening: Supreme Court
The Supreme Court has stated that the self-regulation mechanism of television channels must be strengthened. The Chief Justice of India (CJI) said that guidelines would be issued to ensure channels comply with regulations and suggested that penalties should be in proportion with the profits earned by an errant channel.
