Gaming platform MPL to lay off 350 employees to 'survive' after 28% GST

Indian online gaming app Mobile Premier League is planning to lay off 350 employees, citing a 28% goods and services tax imposed by the government last month. The tax affects the funds online gaming firms collect from consumers and is expected to increase the company's tax burden by up to 400%, according to MPL CEO Sai Srinivas.
