Bayer, GenZero, and Shell India join hands to showcase scalability of methane emissions reduction in rice cultivation

Bayer, GenZero, and Shell Energy India are forming a partnership to create a scalable model for reducing methane emissions in rice cultivation. The programme will include MRV mechanisms, remote sensing technology and the International Rice Research Institute's assessment. Paddy rice cultivation is responsible for approximately 10% of global methane emissions, so the project aims to reduce emissions and improve soil health while benefiting smallholder rice farmers.
