No hike in rail fares in name of station revamp, says Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

India's railways minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, has stated that there will be no fare increases in relation to the redevelopment of 508 stations across India, despite the fact Rs 25,000 crore will be earmarked in the current national budget for the project. Vaishnaw pledged the aim of the initiative was to offer seamless and equitable travel for all strata of society.
