Import curbs on laptops, PCs to come into force from November 1

The Indian government has delayed the introduction of several new restrictions on laptops, tablets and servers until 1 November due to concerns over the impact on global supply chains. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade said that until the deadline, consignments can be cleared without the need for a licence. However, from November 2023, such licences will be required for import.
