Portuguese street artist Bordalo II has staged a protest against the state and Catholic Church's investment in Pope Francis' participation in World Youth Day, an event expected to bring in hundreds of thousands of young Catholics. The artist broke into a venue the pontiff is intending to use for a Lisbon mass and rolled out a carpet of giant €500 notes, estimated to have cost €161m ($179) to stage.
