In a recent parliamentary event, one politician insultingly referred to another as "a man in the garb of an intellectual," sparking conversations around intellectual property rights (IPR) and who has the right to be called an intellectual. Previously, an intellectual referred to someone with intellect; however, overuse and misuse of the term related to newspaper op-ed columnists has reduced its value, leading to the rise of the term "pseudo-intellectual."
