Tomato puree, frozen veggies are flying off the shelves amid skyrocketing tomato prices

Online grocery delivery companies in India are experiencing a surge in demand for tomato puree, prompted by high tomato prices. Mother Dairy has registered a 300% increase in puree sales and 50% increase in frozen vegetable sales at its stores over the past two weeks. Stocks of puree have dried up at B2B wholesalers, and the price of a 200 ml container of puree now costs INR 27, roughly equivalent to 450 gm of tomatoes.
