June sees a dip in diesel sales as monsoon arrives
Preliminary industry data shows that diesel sales dropped in June due to reduced demand in the agricultural sector and decreased vehicular movement caused by the arrival of the monsoon. Diesel demand fell by 3.7%, while petrol sales rose by 3.4% compared to the same period last year. The arrival of the monsoon has reduced the need for diesel generators for irrigation and decreased consumption in tractors and trucks.
