The Supreme Court has provided a ban on bike taxi aggregators Rapido and Uber until guidelines outlining the process of granting licences for these kinds of operators are drawn up. Bans on bike taxis have been placed in many Indian states, and while regulating the safety of the two-wheeled transporters is essential, bans are not the answer.
