About 24 global brands likely to set up shop in India this year

Due to a post-Covid consumption surge and rising spending power of Indian consumers, around two dozen international brands are expected to enter India this year, the most in a decade, according to property consultants. This is up from one global brand in 2020, three in 2021 and 11 in 2022. Brands including Roberto Cavalli, Foot Locker, Lavazza, Armani Caffe, Jamba and The Coffee Club are among those likely to establish a presence in India. It is expected that retail leasing could touch 5.5-6 million sq ft in 2023, with around 30-35 international brands opening in the 2021-23 period.
