The Indian Cabinet has taken steps to fast-track land monetisation with the establishment of the National Land Monetisation Corporation (NLMC) but progress stalled due to a lack of manpower. To address the issue, the public enterprises department has begun recruiting top officials and consultants, as per a directive by the Prime Minister's Office. These employees and advisors must be hired by the end of June, according to unnamed sources. This step must be completed in order to meet the PMO's direction to accelerate the process to monetise land in the country.
