Govt starts inquiry into Google app payments antitrust compliance

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has initiated an inquiry into Google after receiving allegations from Match Group and Indian start-ups that the new User Choice Billing (UCB) system is anti-competitive. Companies have complained that the new system charges between 11%-26% service fees, therefore Google has failed to comply with an earlier antitrust directive.
