Delhi city asks judge to quash Pernod's liquor licence rejection appeal

Authorities in New Delhi have told Pernod Ricard that the company did not meet the requirements for a licence, according to a court filing seen by Reuters. Pernod, whose brands include Absolut vodka and Chivas Regal, has not been able to sell its products in Delhi for six months after its licence was rejected due to an investigation into allegations the company had illegally obtained profits and supported retailers financially. The company asked a judge to grant it a licence in May, saying there was no proof of wrongdoing.
