Incremental SUC only on shared bands, says Trai, opposes DoT
As per executives in the telecom industry, the DoT had neither accepted nor rejected Trai’s recommendations of 2020, which underlined that incremental SUC for sharing spectrum should be applied on the specific shared bands only. However, in October last year, the DoT notified that telcos have to pay incremental 0.5% SUC for the overall weighted average SUC, in case of spectrum sharing and demands for payment were raised on the calculation.
