Wall Street steady as JPMorgan leads gains after First Republic buyout

JPMorgan Chase has announced plans to buy most of First Republic Bank's assets resulting in a 2.8% rise in the former's shares, almost a two-month high, and an increase in the S&P 500 Banks index by 1.4%. The rescue came following a deposit flight from Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank.
