India needs to start thinking about US-like 'TSA' security at airports, says Aviation Secretary

India's Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) is seeking suggestions and views from aviation stakeholders on setting up an airport security force. It will be modelled on the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA), according to Rajiv Bansal, the Aviation Secretary. He said that aviation posed a growing security issue in the country, and cited the terrorist attacks that occurred on 11 September and the Kanishka crash as reasons for India to create a TSA-style organisation in the country. There are currently two agencies responsible for airport security in India.
