FPIs begin FY24 on a positive note; invest Rs 8,767 cr in Indian equities in Apr

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have invested Rs 8,767 crore ($1.16bn) in Indian equities in April 3-13, according to depository data, after investing Rs 7,936 crore ($1.05bn) in March. Experts point to a reasonable valuation for Indian stocks and stabilisation of the global scenario on the back of moderation in apprehensions about the banking crisis in the US and Europe as contributing factors. Nevertheless, FPI flows may remain volatile due to the US Federal Reserve's tight monetary policy.
