India seeks to deepen forex markets with onshore NDFs

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is allowing local residents to trade non-deliverable forward (NDF) contracts through local lenders with an IFSC banking unit. Previously, Indian banks were allowed to trade such contracts with foreign entities and between themselves in the IFSC.
