Bond yields drop as FY24 gross borrowing plan lower than estimates
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the government aims to gross borrow 15.43 trillion rupees ($188.64 billion) through the sale of bonds in 2023-24, while keeping the net borrowing at 11.80 trillion rupees.The government aims to maintain fiscal deficit at 5.9% of the gross domestic product in the next financial year and retained the target at 6.4% for this year.
