Policy changes likely to push low-cost urea production

The chemicals and fertilisers ministry is trying to rework the mechanism of how gas is procured by fertiliser plants. Recently it revised the gas procurement policy for fertiliser companies, allowing plants to buy about a fifth of their monthly needs through the domestic spot market.
