Kirit Parikh panel suggests floor and ceiling price for gas from India fields

In its report submitted to the government on Wednesday, the committee also suggested free pricing starting January 2027 for gas produced from these legacy fields and from January 2026 for difficult fields. Gas produced from the legacy fields of Oil & Natural Gas Corp and Oil India will realise a minimum of $4 per million British thermal units and have a cap, or upper ceiling price, of $6.50, against the current rate of $8.57, as per the recommendations.
