Dense fog for 3 days, Delhi's air could turn severe

The dense fog at Palam will persist for three more days, causing reduced visibility. Delhiites will experience excessively polluted air in the 'severe' AQI range due to low ventilation index and unfavorable wind speed. The fog is expected to be dense to very dense in north-west India, including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, UP, and Rajasthan. The fog is caused by night moisture, clear skies, and low wind speed. The air quality early warning system predicts a 'severe' AQI from Thursday to Friday. The ventilation index and wind speed will be unfavorable for dispersion of pollutants. The city's PM2.5 levels are influenced by transport, industries, and other sources. Delhi is currently under GRAP Stage III restrictions. The minimum temperature recorded was slightly below normal at 7 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature was above normal at 23.8 degrees Celsius.
